The creative 2-3 year old
Having creativity is being able to express yourself in your own way and by being naturally curious and creative.
Children express their creativity in four areas: art, language, music and fantasy.
Children love to draw and express their creativity with all sources of medium; glue, paint, play dough and cutting.
With language they love to tell stories, it is amazing what they will come up with.
In the musical area, children love to sing, march, dance and play instruments.
Some children are extremely expressive. They express their ideas through pretend including make believe, day dreaming, imaginary friends and fantasy books.
This is all strengthened through self-expression, it provides for intellectual growth, and to explore the world around them. Creativity encourages self-worth and helps children to grow socially. It is always important to remember that the process is always more important than the product.
